Sunny Oaks, Inc. first opened officially in 1973 through the vision of Doris Brown, naming the company after the oaks in the yard & first home, which was in the Sunnyside district.

The house now known as Harbaugh House, after former director Vicki Harbaugh, was purchased in 1976. Sunny Oaks later became incorporated in September 1979.

Since then, SOI has grown to 10 residential programs, Supported Living and Community Inclusion (i.e. Community Living) services.

SOI strives to provide programs that support the dreams of our customers while providing for their needs through encouragement of healthy and positive life choices, safe and nurturing environments and continuous community enrichment and inclusion.
